december's featured k9 team

*DECEMBER'S FEATURED TEAM*
We are back with another featured team of the month. This one is a special one...why? Because it is also a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!! 
Introducing Cpl. Trent Martin and K9 Capone from the Burlington Police Department. Cpl. Martin has been a police officer with the department for 16 years and he was joined by K9 Capone just about 10 years ago. An even more fun fact?! 🎉TODAY IS K9 CAPONE'S 11TH BIRTHDAY!!🎉
The team is certified in patrol, drugs, and tracking and they have a long list of accomplishments for which their department should be very proud. Cpl. Martin & K9 Capone have been awarded the K9 Team of the Year in 2011 and 2013, Detection Team of the Year in 2012, and Patrol Team of the Year in 2014. In addition to those commendations, they have also been awarded two certificates of high achievement from the Burlington Police Department as well as having completed a life saving track in 2011. Cpl. Martin says his proudest deployment of K9 Capone was when he located evidence during a track of a dangerous and violent felon. This find was the key evidence to convicting and incarcerating the suspect for several decades. K9 Capone has put in a great deal of time and hard work to serve the State of Vermont, but he still loves to run around and play. Please join us in not only recognizing this team as this month's featured team, but also in wishing K9 Capone a very happy 11th birthday!
