January's featured k9 team

Starting off the year with a new featured K9 team of the month. This month we are introducing Cpl. Benjamin Chiaravalle and his K9 partner Wes. Cpl. Chiaravalle has been a police officer, working for the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Department for 4.5 years, and for the last 2 years, he has been partnered with K9 Wes. K9 Wes, and his brother K9 Dozer from Hartford PD, came from a breeder in Maryland. The team is certified in tracking, drugs, and evidence recovery. They have a lot of experience with 1.5 mile tracks and are credited with successfully finding a juvenile and a suicidal person while tracking. K9 Wes also has assisted with search warrants, and on one assist, he located 46 grams of cocaine in a residence. K9 Wes loves to play, and that is what drives his work. Any chance he gets to play fetch with a ball, fire hose, or Kong, that is where you will find him!
